'orange julius goes green'

if you are a child of the 70's like me you most likely grew up with the creamy, sweet deliciousness of an 'orange julius' from 'dairy queen'. with that taste in mind I have recreated a healthy dairy-free green version.....and it's ohhh soooo good!

'orange julius goes green'

* 4 cups fresh spinach leaves

* juice of 4 oranges OR 3 whole seedless oranges (I used organic cara cara)

* 2 frozen bananas

* 1-3 dates (pitted) (ONLY ADD IF more sweetness is desired... lately I find I don't need it)

* 3 Tbs. hemp seed

* 1.5 cups almond mylk (homemade is best)

* 1.5 cups coconut water OR 1 young thai coconut (meat and water)

* paste of 1 vanilla bean or 1 tsp vanilla extract

* sprinkle cinnamon, nutmeg

blend until smooth. makes about 42 oz. pour into glass jars and drink now or store in fridge till later
