Here is a healthy, natural, antioxidant rich reinvention of a classic chocolate malt shake. I remember my morning ritual in high school was to drink a big glass of cow’s milk with ‘carnation instant breakfast’. They advertised this powdered substance as “breakfast nutrition”. * 1 ½ cup almond mylk (homemade mylk is best)
* 1 frozen banana
* 1 pitted date
* 2 tsp. raw maca root powder
* ½ tsp. raw cacao powder (add more according to taste. cacao can be bitter)
* 1 tsp vanilla extract
* sprinkle cinnamon
* 3 ice cubes (if a cooler beverage is desired)
*blend until smooth and frothy
