'orange julius goes green'

if you are a child of the 70's like me you most likely grew up with the creamy, sweet deliciousness of an 'orange julius' from 'dairy queen'. with that taste in mind I have recreated a healthy dairy-free green version.....and it's ohhh soooo good!

'orange julius goes green'

* 4 cups fresh spinach leaves

* juice of 4 oranges

* 2 frozen bananas

* 3 dates (pitted)

* 3 Tbs. hemp seed

* 1.5 cups almond mylk

* 1.5 cups coconut water

* paste of 1 vanilla bean or 1 tsp vanilla extract

* sprinkle cinnamon, nutmeg

blend until smooth. makes about 42 oz. pour into glass jars and drink now or store in fridge till later

banana- high levels of potassium, magnesium, b-vitamins, antioxidants, helps to stabilize blood sugar, increases calcium absorption, high in fiber, soothes the digestive tract, stimulate the growth of friendly bacteria in the bowel, produces stress-relieving relaxation, contains high levels of tryptophan, which is converted into serotonin -- the happy-mood brain neurotransmitter, strengthens blood and relieves anemia with the added iron.

date- a excellent whole food sweetener for live food treats and smoothies. good source of potassium, manganese, copper, magnesium, and iron. full of fiber, relieves constipation, boosts energy, supports a healthy nervous system, strengthens tooth enamel, treats anemia, improves eyesight, lowers cholesterol.

hemp seed- high in easily digestible protein (1 Tbs. hemp seed = 5 grams of protein), contains all 9 essential amino acids, potassium, fiber, iron and vit.
